Windhand is an American stoner and doom metal band from Richmond, Virginia, formed in 2008. Dorthia Cottrell's vocals carry heavy, psychedelic slow-burn songs that blend occult rock atmosphere with crushing riffs. Albums on Relapse Records include "Soma" (2013) and "Eternal Return" (2018), and Rolling Stone named "Soma" one of 2013's best metal albums. Their live sets are known for dense, hypnotic heaviness and a ritual-like stage presence.
