The Melvins are an American rock band formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington. They pair slow, heavy riffs with experimental songwriting, pioneering sludge metal and influencing grunge. Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover have been the constant core since 1984, with over 25 studio albums including "Houdini" (1993). Their shows are legendarily loud, often featuring dual-drummer or dual-bassist lineups.
