The Nighthawks are a blues and roots music band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1972 by harmonica player Mark Wenner and guitarist Jimmy Thackery. Their hard-driving sound draws on Chicago blues and bar-band rock and roll. Their 1979 album "Full House" features guests Pinetop Perkins and Bob Margolin; "Jacks and Kings" pairs them with blues legends. They are known for decades of road-hardened club and festival sets.
