Chris Smither is an American folk and blues singer-songwriter, born in Miami and raised in New Orleans, known for his fingerpicked acoustic guitar. His songs draw on the blues, American folk music and modern poets and philosophers. Since his debut "I'm a Stranger Too!" (1970) his work has been covered by others, notably Bonnie Raitt, who made "Love Me Like a Man" a signature song of her live shows.
