Special EFX is an American jazz group founded in 1982 by guitarist Chieli Minucci and Hungarian drummer George Jinda. The band blends rock, Latin rhythms and smooth jazz, with Minucci as guitarist, composer and producer. Its catalogue runs from "Special EFX" (1983) and "Mystique" (1987) to "Deep as the Night" (2017), which Billboard ranked its number one Smooth Jazz Song of the Year in 2018.
