Generation Y is a New York jazz ensemble led by three-time Grammy Award-winning drummer Ulysses Owens Jr. The group's hard-swinging acoustic jazz draws on Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers model, showcasing conservatory-trained young players. Debut album "A New Beat" arrived in 2024 on Cellar Live, followed by "Around The World With U" in 2026. Live sets balance classic repertoire with member compositions and mentor-driven spirit.
