Y&T is an American hard rock band from Oakland, California, formed in 1972 and led by singer and guitarist Dave Meniketti. Their music mixes melodic hard rock and heavy metal with bluesy guitar and anthemic hooks. Albums such as "Earthshaker" (1981) and "In Rock We Trust" (1984) built a devoted following in the 1980s metal scene. Live, they are known for Meniketti's soaring vocals and sustained, riff-driven sets.
