Tommy Castro
blues
Tommy Castro is a San Jose-born American blues and rock guitarist and singer who leads the tight Tommy Castro & The Painkillers band. His sound spans soul-drenched R&B, electric blues, and horn-fueled rock and roll with searing guitar and soulful vocals. Across four decades he has released 17 albums, including Closer to the Bone in 2025 on Alligator Records, and won multiple Blues Music Awards. Live shows are high-energy, telepathically tight roadhouse rockers built on decades of electrifying stagecraft.
