Theatre of Hate are a British post-punk band formed in London in 1980, led by singer Kirk Brandon after The Pack disbanded. Their sound pairs Brandon's dramatic vocals with driving guitars and haunting sax lines from John "Boy" Lennard. Their 1982 debut album Westworld, produced by Mick Jones of The Clash, reached the UK Top 20 on the back of the anthem "Do You Believe in the Westworld?" They built their reputation as one of the era's most intense live acts.
