The Slackers

The Slackers are an American band formed in New York City in 1991, built around the vocals and keyboards of Vic Ruggiero. They play ska, rocksteady, reggae and soul, and the New York Times has called them the sound of New York. After three decades as an independent touring act, the album "Don't Let the Sunlight Fool Ya" (2022) became their first to chart, topping the Billboard reggae list. Their concerts are known for long, varied sets drawn from a rotating repertoire of more than 200 songs.
