B Side Players

The B-Side Players are a San Diego band formed in 1994 by Karlos Paez, mixing horn-led Latin, reggae, funk, and soul. They fold cumbia, samba, and Afro-Latin rhythms into rock and hip-hop backbeats, often with socially conscious lyrics. Wikipedia notes Concord releases and shared stages with acts such as Ozomatli and Ben Harper. Shows are high-energy, polyrhythmic dance sets rooted in the U.S. and Mexico border sound.
