The B-52s

rockalternative rock

The B-52s are a new wave band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976 by Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, Ricky Wilson and Keith Strickland. Named after a beehive hairstyle, they mix dance and surf music with 1950s and 1960s pop, camp and thrift-store chic. Their 1979 debut featured "Rock Lobster", and "Cosmic Thing" (1989) brought the hits "Love Shack" and "Roam".
