Spanish Harlem Orchestra is a New York Latin dance orchestra founded around 2000 by Aaron Levinson and pianist Oscar Hernández. Their salsa and Latin jazz draws on big-band tradition and Puerto Rican plena and bomba. Debut "Un Gran Día en el Barrio" (2002) earned a Grammy nomination; "Across 110th Street" won a Grammy. Shows feature powerful vocals, dynamic brass and dance-floor rhythms.
