Slick Rick is a London-born rapper raised in the Bronx, famed as one of hip hop's great storytellers. His smooth, British-tinged flow and narrative songs like "Children's Story" largely introduced storytelling into hip hop. He broke through with Doug E. Fresh on "La Di Da Di," released "The Great Adventures of Slick Rick" (1988) and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
