Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1977, led by singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill. Their music moves from post-punk into anthemic new wave and synth-rock built around big choruses. The 1985 single "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and the album "Once Upon a Time" (1985) brought worldwide success. Live shows are known for surging keyboards, Kerr's soaring vocals and crowd-uniting hooks.
