The Silk Road Ensemble is a rotating collective of Eurasian musicians tied to Yo-Yo Ma's Silkroad organization, founded in 1998. Shows weave pipa, duduk, shakuhachi and Western strings through new chamber commissions. "Sing Me Home" (2016) won the Grammy for Best World Music Album. Performances pair cross-cultural improvisation with visual art and narrative.
