Robyn Hitchcock is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist known for surrealist psychedelic rock. His songs pair jangle pop, folk and post-punk with eccentric, sometimes sardonic lyrics. He led The Soft Boys before the 1980 classic Underwater Moonlight, then solo releases including I Often Dream of Trains (1984). His live sets mix storytelling and surreal humor with both acoustic and electric arrangements.
