Rasputina is an American cello rock band founded in Brooklyn, New York, in 1992 by cellist Melora Creager. The group pairs electric cellos with chamber rock arrangements and a Victorian-era image built on corsets and historical themes. Its debut album "Thanks for the Ether" came out on Columbia Records in 1996, followed by "How We Quit the Forest" in 1998. The band has toured with Bob Mould and Siouxsie Sioux.
