Pelican is an American instrumental post-metal band from Chicago, formed in 2001. They build heavy, atmospheric instrumentals that blend doom metal, stoner rock and hardcore aggression into long, layered compositions. Albums include "Australasia" (2003), "What We All Come to Need" (2009) and "Nighttime Stories" (2019). Their live sets favor direct, high-energy performances built around extended, thunderous instrumental passages.
