Omar Souleyman is a Syrian singer from Tell Tamer who modernizes traditional dabke with electronic beats and keening vocals. He began performing at weddings in 1994 and built a catalog of high-energy party music. The 2013 album "Wenu Wenu", produced with Four Tet, brought his sound to international festivals. Live, he leads call-and-response dabke sets that keep dance floors moving for hours.
