Megadeth is an American thrash metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by singer and guitarist Dave Mustaine. The music is built on fast, technically complex riffing, with lyrics about war, politics and religion. One of thrash metal's big four with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, they broke through with "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?" (1986) and "Rust in Peace" (1990), and won a Grammy for "Dystopia" in 2017.
