Mark Whitfield

Mark Whitfield is an American jazz guitarist from Lindenhurst, New York, who emerged in the late 1980s after graduating from Berklee. His playing blends straight-ahead jazz, soul-jazz, and R&B inflections shaped by George Benson and classic swing traditions. He made his solo debut with "The Marksman" (1990) on Warner Bros. and has since recorded as a leader and sideman. Live he appears at guitar showcases including Frank Vignola's weekly Birdland residency.
