Mariza

Mariza is a Portuguese fado singer, born in Mozambique and raised in the Mouraria and Alfama neighborhoods of Lisbon. Her debut album "Fado em Mim" (2002) sold about 100,000 copies, far beyond the usual for a fado record. She won the BBC Radio 3 award for Best European Artist in World Music in 2003, and later albums include "Terra" (2008) and "Mariza Canta Amália" (2020).
