King's X is an American rock trio formed in Springfield, Missouri, and later based in Houston, with Doug Pinnick, Ty Tabor and Jerry Gaskill. Their sound combines progressive metal, funk and soul with vocal arrangements influenced by gospel, blues and British Invasion rock. Albums like "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska" (1989) made them pivotal in early progressive metal, and they played Woodstock '94.
