Jackyl is an American hard rock and Southern metal band formed in Kennesaw, Georgia in 1991. Their sound fuses glam metal swagger with Southern rock grit, pairing rowdy anthems like "Down on Me" and "The Lumberjack" with frontman Jesse James Dupree's signature chainsaw solos. Their 1992 self-titled debut went platinum, and they set a 1998 Guinness World Record by playing 100 shows in 50 days. Live they are known for relentless, high-energy sets and Dupree's chainsaw theatrics.
