GIFT is a New York band formed in 2020 by frontman TJ Freda, who assembled the quintet from musicians in other bands. The band describes its sound as a blend of early shoegaze, classic '90s alternative rock and modern pop, often with darker lyrics under joyous pop structures. Its debut "Momentary Presence" arrived in 2022, followed by "Illuminator" (2024), its first album for Captured Tracks.
