Béla Fleck

Béla Fleck is an American banjo virtuoso from New York City who has pushed the instrument beyond bluegrass into jazz, classical, and world music. His recordings span country, pop, jazz, and classical fields while keeping bluegrass at the root. The Grammy-winning "My Bluegrass Heart" completes a trilogy begun with "Drive" (1988) and "The Bluegrass Sessions" (1991). He performs with an all-star bluegrass band and projects such as Béla Fleck and the Flecktones.
