Barbara Mason

Barbara Mason is an American soul and R&B singer-songwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She writes confessional, piano-led ballads that helped define the city's mid-1960s soul sound. Her self-penned 1965 hit "Yes, I'm Ready" reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the R&B chart. She remains a staple of classic soul revue lineups, drawing crowds with timeless slow jams.
