Azar Lawrence Quartet in Denver

The Azar Lawrence Quartet is the jazz group led by saxophonist Azar Lawrence. Lawrence's playing builds on John Coltrane's harmonic language, shaped by early work with McCoy Tyner on albums such as "Enlightenment" (1973) and "Atlantis" (1974) and with Miles Davis on "Dark Magus" (1977). Albums as leader run from "Bridge into the New Age" (1974) to "Elementals" (2018) and "New Sky" (2022).
