Alabama is an American country music band formed in Fort Payne, Alabama, in 1969 by cousins Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook. Their first RCA single "Tennessee River" began a streak of 21 country number ones, including "Mountain Music", "Dixieland Delight" and "Song of the South". In the 1980s alone they had 27 country number ones and seven multi-platinum albums.
