The Ocean In Our Dreams: Brazil special with Swaya & DJ Araporé

Brassy frevo barrels through the streets of Recife; forró, all accordion, triangle, and bounding bass, spills across the sertão; maracatu drums through Pernambuco, samba de roda circles the Recôncavo Baiano, and carimbó turns along the rivers of Pará. Inland, sertanejo rises from Goiás and the vast agricultural interior. In this listening session, Swaya & Dj Araporé —Brazilian-American siblings, producer Swaya and historian-journalist Alex—take you on a winding journey across this rhythmo-political map.
