About the concert
Scott Jarrett and Natural Intelligence bring an evening of exceptional musicianship and original songwriting, blending elements of rock, folk, jazz, and Americana into a deeply personal and engaging performance. Joined by bassist Marco Topo and drummer Joseph Porter , Scott Jarrett will perform selections from his three acclaimed albums— Without Rhyme or Reason , The Gift of Thirst , and Aperçu —along with a few favorite cover songs. Audiences will also have the rare opportunity to hear several brand-new compositions that have never before been recorded. Scott Jarrett has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than five decades. A singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, recording engineer, and educator, he began performing professionally at just 14 years old. He has toured with East Coast bands, worked with national Broadway touring productions, and served as Music Director during the final years of the Broadway production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas . His debut album, Without Rhyme or Reason , was produced by Grammy-winning producers Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen for GRP/Arista Records, followed by two independently produced albums that further showcase his distinctive songwriting voice. Born into one of America's most accomplished musical families—including his brother, world-renowned jazz pianist Keith Jarrett—Scott has forged an impressive career entirely on his own merits. As a studio musician, producer, and engineer, he worked extensively in Nashville, recording with legendary artists including Willie Nelson and Riders in the Sky, while also producing albums across the singer-songwriter, jazz, acoustic, and classical genres. More recently, he has engineered and produced recordings for artists including Susan Clark, Hidden Whale, Arlen Asher, and Doug Lawrence of the Count Basie Orchestra. Beyond the studio and stage, Jarrett has spent more than 30 years mentoring the next generation of musicians and audio professionals. He has taught Music Technology at institutions including Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts, McNally Smith College of Music—where he served as Head of the Recording Department for eight years—Thunderbird Recording School, and Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Whether performing on guitar, piano, bass, mandolin, hand percussion, or vocals, Scott Jarrett brings decades of artistry and experience to every performance. With the outstanding rhythm section of Marco Topo and Joseph Porter, Scott Jarrett and Natural Intelligence promise an intimate evening of heartfelt songwriting, masterful musicianship, and the debut of new works that audiences will hear for the very first time. Dinner and cocktails starting at 5:30 pm. Showtime is 7:00 pm. Reservations highly recommended.
