About the concert

Musical Style: Jazz Join Denver saxophonist Keith Oxman and his quartet for a special celebration of the music and legacy of John Coltrane, marking the 100th birthday of one the defining musicians of the 20th century. The evening will feature a mix of Coltrane compositions alongside standards that he made his own, offering a musical journey through the repertoire that helped define one of jazz’s most influential voices. A leading figure in the Denver jazz scene for three decades, Keith Oxman has led numerous groups and performed and recorded with artists including Curtis Fuller, Charles McPherson, David Liebman, and Houston Person. He is also a longtime educator and former band director at Denver’s East High School, where he helped inspire generations of young musicians. For this special centennial celebration, Oxman brings his deep knowledge of the jazz tradition and his own voice to the music of one of its greatest innovators.
