About the concert

Anika Kunst, Juliana Huxtable, Kim Ann Foxman and more play at BASEMENT in New York on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 10:30 PM. VILE last played New York just last week, at The Deep End.

Juliana Huxtable returns to BASEMENT following her all-night set in July. One of the great visionaries of modern club music, Huxtable uses the form as a site of peerless worldbuilding and relentless experimentation. Huxtable’s history in the fine arts - as a poet, visual artist and performer - informs her approach, subverting the typical templates and finding ever new ways to freak the system. There simply is no one in the world who does it quite like she does. We welcome her back. Anika Kunst makes the trip from Spain, landing in the room for the first time. The founder of the Selectors party series and Chapter Records, Kunst has dedicated herself for over two decades to timeless techno. Her releases - on her own label as well as WSNWG and Rekids - embodies the pure, direct power of the genre, with her own particular twist. Colombian-born, NY-based Vile returns. An artist whose work pushes boundaries, Vile embraces a cutting edge futurism and raw, uncanny strangeness. Vile makes techno feel surreal, beckoning you towards, in their own words, “escapist transformation.”

Pablo Bozzi leads a special showcase for his Second Sight label in STUDIO. Bozzi has become one of the most beloved talents in the modern italo-disco-house landscape, bringing forth one exceptional release after another. Each time, he’s able to capture the quintessential rush of timeless late ‘80s / early ‘90s dance music, whether in throbbing, glamorous synth tracks or more sleek, coursing club tracks. His recent “Wired” EP on Second Sight is another masterstroke, with the slightest hint of dubby spaciousness giving depth to his unstoppable underground anthems. Byron Yeats’ musical journey has included everything from saucy house to trippy downtempo, but perhaps the apex of his artistry arrived with last year’s “Pansy Beat” LP. The album is a true journey and a love letter to the full sprawl of dance music. Kim Ann Foxman completes an already-heavy lineup. "What I play,” she once reflected, “is everything that I love to dance to.” This means bold, acid-drenched house, diva vocals, jacking drums and balmy, Balearic pads. A pillar of 21st century dance music, Foxman has been a leading light since first emerging in the early ‘00s as a member of Hercules and Love Affair. Today, the work continues across her collaborations and work on her labels Firehouse Recordings, self:timer and Pleasure Planet.
