IVY ROOM PRESENTS THURSDAY OCTOBER 29TH — A.B.P. & THE SPITES ELEGANT BACHELORS CALIFORNIA STANDARD — 7:00 pm doors / 7:30 pm show ADV TIX AVAILABLE — IVY ROOM 860 San Pablo Avenue, Albany • 21+ — A.B.P. & The Spites — A.B.P. & The Spites are a Berkeley garage rock band known for their raw live shows and beat-driven lyricism. When they aren't bleeding on stage, they're in abandoned parking lots recording & studio apartments rehearsing. Songs like the The White Stripes-influenced KILLING THE KAT: an anxiety attack through prose capture the band's intensity at full-volume; backed with endless hours on stage & in studio, they are controlled chaos manifest in garage rock mayhem. THE ELEGANT BACHELORS — Move the minivan, the bicycle helmets, and the old golf clubs, mom and dad. This garage is needed for rock and roll. CALIFORNIA STANDARD — California Standard is a pop rock band with a cinematic flavor based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. Inspired by acts like Kings of Leon, the Menzingers, and early Coldplay, they blend alt-radio vibes and pop hooks to tell slice-of-life stories. The band released their second EP, Time Spent With You on all major streaming platforms in late 2025. The EP was a look at how relationships change over time, set to an ever-changing backdrop inspired by alt-rock, Americana, and (a little bit) of singer-songwriter music. If you're into the music that played over the end of 2000s indie movies and high energy live performances, you should come to a California Standard show sometime.
