Yuridia, born Yuridia Francisca Gaxiola Flores in Hermosillo, Sonora in 1986, is a Mexican singer who came second in the fourth season of the talent show La Academia. Her voice carries Latin pop, R&B and regional Mexican material, largely songs of heartbreak. The debut album "La Voz de un Ángel" (2005) sold more than 1.5 million copies, and she became the first woman in fifteen years to earn two diamond-certified albums in Mexico. She won the Latin Billboard award for best female pop album in 2007.
