Y La Bamba
rockpop
Y La Bamba is a Portland indie band led by Luz Elena Mendoza Ramos, who sings in English and Spanish. Their sound blends indie folk, psych-pop, and Mexican folk traditions from Mendoza Ramos's Michoacán roots. "Lucha" (2023), their seventh album, explores queerness, Chicanx identity, and healing after she moved to Mexico City. Live sets are intimate, genre-blurring performances centered on her distinctive voice.
