Why? is an American band led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Yoni Wolf, formed in 2004 out of Cincinnati and Berkeley. The group blends alternative hip hop with indie rock, and Wolf's lyrics are confessional autofiction about anxiety, breakups and the struggle to connect. Albums on Anticon and Joyful Noise include "Elephant Eyelash" (2005), "Alopecia" (2008) and "The Well I Fell Into" (2024).
