Whalien

Whalien is an eclectic jam fusion band based in Seattle, Washington, that won the 2018 Summer Meltdown Showdown after playing together only a few months. Their sound mixes funk, jazz fusion, disco breakbeats, honky-tonk shuffles, and ska, often with surprise trombone solos. They released "For Realien" in 2022 and "Whale Tales" in 2023 after more than 200 live dates. Shows stay high energy, and since 2024 they have hosted their own Splish Splash festival.
