Vicente Griego

Vicente Griego, known as El Cartucho, is a flamenco cantaor from Dixon and Embudo, New Mexico. His singing in cante flamenco draws on deep, sonorous vocals honed through study with Madrid's Alfonso Gabarri "El Veneno" and Granada's Chuscales. Since touring with Jose Greco II Flamenco Dance Company from 1992, he sings and teaches for the National Institute of Flamenco and Yjastros. Tablao performances bring audiences close to the footwork, guitar, and spontaneous dialogue of traditional flamenco.
