Thievery Corporation is an American electronic duo formed in Washington, D.C. in 1995 by Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. Their sound mixes dub, bossa nova, reggae, hip hop, and electronica into chilled downtempo grooves. The 1996 debut "Sounds From the Thievery Hi-Fi" launched their ESL Music label and began a catalog spanning trip hop, acid jazz, and global styles. Live shows expand the duo into a full ensemble with rotating vocalists and international instrumentation.
