The War on Drugs is an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed in 2005 and led by Adam Granduciel. Their music blends indie rock, heartland rock, and neo-psychedelia with layered guitars and anthemic songwriting. The 2017 album "A Deeper Understanding" won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album; "Lost in the Dream" (2014) earned widespread critical acclaim. Live shows feature a full band with saxophone and extended guitar textures.
