The Shins
rockpop
The Shins are an American indie rock band formed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1996 by James Mercer, the group's only constant member. Their songs blend 1960s pop traditions with indie rock songwriting. "New Slang" in the 2004 film "Garden State" made them indie-rock icons, and "Wincing the Night Away" (2007) earned a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album.
