The Residents

The Residents are an American experimental music and art collective, active since the early 1970s and known for their anonymity. Their work spans art rock, electronic and industrial music, and they perform in eyeball helmets and top hats. That costume first appeared on "Eskimo" (1979), a concept album of soundscapes drawn from Inuit culture. They are also among the early makers of music video and performance art.
