The Box Tops

The Box Tops are an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1967, known for blue-eyed soul and pop-rock. Their singles mixed Memphis soul, light pop, and songs from producers Dan Penn and Chips Moman. "The Letter" in 1967 topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks; "Cry Like a Baby" and "Soul Deep" were later major hits. Reunion-era shows lean on those classic singles for boomer rock audiences.
