Strange Boutique

Strange Boutique is a gothic rock band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1987 around singer Monica Richards. Their sound pairs swirling guitar and ethereal vocals with a pulsating rhythm section, drawing on post-punk, dream pop and shoegaze. They released "The Loved One" (1991), "Charm" (1993) and "The Kindest Worlds" (1994) before splitting, and reunited in 2019 after the death of founding guitarist Fred Smith.
