Steve Forbert is an American folk and pop singer-songwriter from Meridian, Mississippi, who built his name in 1970s New York. His songs find poetic meaning in everyday moments, pairing melodic hooks with observant, homespun lyrics. He broke through with "Romeo's Tune" (1979) from "Jackrabbit Slim", and earned a Grammy nomination for "Any Old Time" (2004). Live, he draws on decades of street-busking roots and intimate club storytelling.
