Soulfly
metalheavy metal
Soulfly is a heavy metal band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1997 by Max Cavalera after he left Sepultura. The group mixes groove, thrash and death metal with Brazilian tribal and world music, with lyrics on war, violence and spirituality. Its gold-certified self-titled debut arrived in 1998, followed by "Primitive" (2000) and "Chama" (2025). Cavalera has deliberately kept the lineup rotating rather than fixed.
