Small Black is an indie band from Brooklyn, New York, led by Josh Kolenik with Ryan Heyner, Juan Pieczanski, and Jeff Curtin. They self-produce synth-heavy pop with melodic vocals, often called chillwave though they resist the tag. Jagjaguwar released their debut "New Chain" (2010), then "Limits of Desire" (2013) and "Cheap Dreams" (2021). Live, they mix full-band sets with DJ sets on curated bills.
