Slow Mass is a Chicago rock band formed in 2015, rooted in post-hardcore, emo and indie rock. Their sound balances teeth-gritting tension with sharp dynamics, pairing restrained passages with screamo-adjacent bursts of rage. They released the debut album "On Watch" in 2018 and followed with "Music for Rest" (2020) and "Low on Foot" (2025) on Landland Colportage. Live, they are known for no-shortcuts performances that move between quiet slow-core intimacy and overwhelming post-hardcore force.
